Lyme Regis – Heritage build

This project was a complete renovation and rebuild of a 200 year old house, so it required a lot of care and attention. We began by stripping the building back to the bare plaster, then we installed a series of engineered beams throughout the downstairs area to open up the smaller rooms and create more open plan living space for the clients. We dug out the ground floor and installed a new ground bearing slab, with insulation and under floor heating, finishing with tiling the floor throughout. It also involved reengineering the entire roof structure on the front elevation and the rear section of the building, using a complex arrangement of steel trusses and timber rafters to maximise the space available. As part of the renovation we also installed new staircases, a new kitchen, new bathrooms and decorated the walls; a new plumbing system was also installed, and the house was completely rewired. Throughout the project we offered personal and bespoke carpentry, including fabricating bespoke wardrobes and cupboards throughout the property. This project was finished by organising the outside of the property to be landscaped and building a new patio.
