Bridport – Eco-friendly new build

This was a new build with quite a difference! The foundations were laid several metres underground which meant that from the front drive this looked deceivingly like a single storey dwelling. Only until you walked around the back of the house could you see this new build was 2 storeys high. This gave the client a lot of privacy but also a unique home full of character and charm. We installed a new kitchen and bi-fold doors leading out onto the front patio and the back balcony area to create a light and airy open space.

This project involved many features designed specifically around the client’s interests, for example we created a bespoke feature wall for one of their rooms made entirely out of vintage wine boxes that the clients had collected over the years. We also constructed an outdoor swimming pool with a small pool house, and in the client’s snug TV room we fitted double insulation and a double layer of acoustic plasterboard to ensure maximum sound proofing so they could have a cinematic experience!

This project also had sustainability at the forefront of its build, so we worked with the clients and other agencies to ensure the property was eco-friendly. With elements ranging from solar panels, a rain water harvesting system, uprated insulation to MVHR.

This unique property has since been featured in the magazine ‘MODERN HOME’, within it’s 2020 ‘Eco Issue’. What an achievement for the clients!
